Administrative Volunteers play a critical role in the success of the Foundation and its fundraising efforts. Projects assigned to Administrative Volunteers are often ongoing and extensive. If this is not the type of time commitment you wish to make please consider applying as an Event Volunteer.
Job Summary: Provide administrative support to development staff in support of fundraising initiatives benefiting Southeast Alabama Medical Center (SAMC) and the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM).
Qualifications:
- Commitment to improving the healthcare and wellness of the regional community
- Possess good interpersonal communication skills
- Able to work in a team setting as well as independently
- Possess good organizational skills, paying close attention to details
- Computer skills not required but a plus
Additional Requirements: Volunteers must also complete any additional SAMC Volunteer Services paperwork and hospital orientation (offered every other Monday 7:30 am – 4 pm.) Administrative Volunteers must also complete a TB Skin Test as well as drug and nicotine screenings per SAMC policies.*
Responsibilities:
- Assist development staff with routine correspondences and large mailings
- Assist development staff with other administrative duties including filing, organizing, copying, maintaining files/records
- Update various mailing lists as requested
- Maintain personal record of volunteer hours
- Assist development staff with preparation of Board of Trustees, committee and special event committee meetings
- Assist development staff with set up and break down of special projects (community luncheons, campaign celebrations, etc)
- Maintain patient and donor confidentiality.
(All administrative volunteers will be asked to sign our Confidentiality Agreement on their first day.)
