It only takes a minute to make a big difference in the day of a caregiver. Thanks to the Healing Hands Program, patients and their family have a way to do just that. The SAMC Foundation’s Healing Hands Program provides patients and their families with a unique opportunity to say thank you to the physician, nurse or other caregiver who enhanced a recent hospital experience.

“Going above and beyond means different things to different people. Maybe it was a kind word, a gentle smile or a warm blanket that brought a patient comfort or reassured a family member. It could have been a lifesaving procedure or a visit from a volunteer during their stay,” explained Sara McCabe, Foundation donor relations specialist.
Two recent Healing Hands honorees were Lisa Bedsole, a clinical coordinator on 4 East and Georgianna Faulk, RN on 3E.
