Held in early spring, the Southeast Alabama Medical Center Foundation Golf Invitational raises dollars for the Areas of Greatest Need fund. These unrestricted funds go to meet the most pressing needs across the various services and programs provided to the patients and their families served at the Medical Center. Proceeds from previous SAMC Foundation Golf Invitational events have provided funding for a Newborn Hearing Screener in the Family Birth Center, the Pawsitive Therapy Program, patient education materials for a variety of services and programs as well as the Foundation’s Kid Fit for Life program, a school-based childhood obesity prevention program.

Celebrate on the Green with the 10th annual SAMC Foundation Golf Invitational.  This year’s event will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017.  Dollars raised during the annual tournament support the Areas of Greatest Need Fund.  These unrestricted funds go to meet the most pressing needs across the various services and programs provided by the Medical Center.  Proceeds from previous golf invitationals have provided funding for a Newborn Hearing Screener in the Family Birth Center, the Pawsitive Therapy Program, patient education materials for a variety of services and programs as well as the Kid Fit for Life Program, a school-based childhood obesity prevention program.

The annual golf outing uses a 4-man scramble format and includes a players’ lunch and awards reception.  Golfers may also participate in raffle drawings and on-the-course challenges for a special prizes.  Since the inaugural year (2008) the SAMC Foundation Golf Invitational has raised more than $598,195 to benefit health and wellness needs in the regional community
