Get Active!

Childhood cases of Type II diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, high cholesterol, and heart disease are on the rise.  What does this mean for the affected children?  It could lead to life-long health problems or even an early death.  It sounds horrible, and it is, but by simply becoming more active these risks can be greatly minimized.  Here are some ways to get your kids more active: sign them up for a local sports league (and you can go for a walk during their practices for some exercise yourself), go for a family walk or bike ride, park further from the entrance of the store and walk, take them to the park, or jump rope.  Try to incorporate more physical activity on a daily basis for your kids.  Join in on the fun when you can to reap some benefits for yourself!   Click here for some more great tips and pointers.
