Employees Giving Back

 

The 2016 SAMC Employee Campaign saw record numbers in contributions and participation. The campaign took place during the month of April and the theme this year was “Be One” for our One in a Million Campaign where employees broke the one million dollars contributed mark in only nine years of giving. Official numbers were 1005 employee partners and $178,217 contributed. Donna Yost, Employee Campaign Chair said, “There was so much excitement with this year’s campaign! Most of the Team Managers handed out the pledge cards ahead of schedule and staff response was tremendous!”

Foundation Executive Director Valerie Barnes added, “It’s always so wonderful to see the level of engagement the employees at SAMC have during the employee campaign. We truly do have the best care team in the region and they’ve proven it time and time again with their generosity and professionalism.”

Barnes went on to say since 2007 employee campaign contributions have reached over $1,045,000. Special thanks to the Foundation Employee Advisory Board and to the 68 departmental Team Managers who helped make this year’s campaign a huge success. Since the addition of Team Managers to our Campaign, we’ve increased participation and contribution amounts over 200%.

Foundation Employee Advisory Board

 

Since its creation in 2008, the Foundation Employee Advisory Board (FEAB) has been a valued sounding board for the development staff and Foundation board of trustees. Comprised of Southeast Alabama Medical Center employees, the FEAB develops relationships between the Foundation and employees. The FEAB also seeks to promote a spirit of community caring and interdepartmental unity throughout the hospital.
