A $10,000 grant from Wachovia Wells Fargo Foundation was presented during Champions of Hope in support of SAMC’s Southeast Regional Screening Program. During the month of October, the Dothan Firefighters’ Association sold pink t-shirts and held a boston butt sale to increase awareness for breast cancer and to raise funds for Champions of Hope. Pictured above are members of the Dothan Firefighters’ Association who presented a check for $2,600 in proceeds from their fund raising events to the Foundation Development Team and Board of Trustee Members.
Representatives of the Clay-Chalkville High School Cougarettes presented a check for $530 in support of Champions of Hope and in honor of Sandi McCool, 2008 Champions of Hope event chairperson.
A special check was presented during the 2011 Champions of Hope by Davis Mims. Davis and his sisters (not-pictured) Mary Hinson and Kathryn Mims raised funds by creating a lemonade stand in front of their home in support of the event. Proud parents are Keely and Chris Mims. Keely served as the 2011 Chairperson of Champions.
