Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama gives $1.5 million – Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama recently donated $1.5 million to the Southeast Alabama Medical Center Foundation to benefit the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine.

ACOM An Economic Engine
The Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM) is projected to have a statewide economic impact of $34.5 million by the time it opens in 2013, according to an independent study done by a national consulting firm.

Groundbreaking Announced
ACOM groundbreaking The groundbreaking for the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM) will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 19, at the ACOM site at Cowarts and Drew roads two miles east of SAMC.
Pre-accrediation Received
On December 14, 2011 the Houston County Health Care Authority received official recognition from the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) for the status of Pre-accreditation for the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM).
